Value is determined in accordance with Federal Valuation Standard FSO XI "Valuation of Intellectual Property and Intangible Assets". The income approach measures the economic benefit from the asset: relief from royalty, premium profit, cost savings or the multi-period excess earnings of the group of assets. The cost approach is based on the reproduction or replacement cost of the asset, and the market approach on transaction prices and royalty rates for comparable assets.
The legal status, term and territory of protection, the terms of licence agreements and the asset's contribution to revenue are analysed. The valuation report sets out a reasoned conclusion of value with supporting analysis for decision-making.
